I've seen some comparisons to The Godfather,
Goodfellas, and works by the
Coen Brothers. I wouldn't go that far, but both of these films are solid.(Animal Kingdom being the better of the two)

I've always had a soft spot for Aussie stuff because we grew up with tons of Antipodean soaps here in the UK.
Underbelly is/was(?) a pretty good Aussie tv show based on the gang wars in Melborne during the nineties.
Cool, will see if I can dig that show up.
Filmspotting recently did a top 5 on Aussie films, and it peeked my interest a little.
