No Worries

In an office building, downtown Toronto...

As the elevator doors close, I notice a young lady running towards me. I'm in no rush to get back to work, so I decide not to let the doors close in her face (which would have brought much laughter if I was 20 years younger).

I now have an elevator ride mate, and I feel she should reward her mad dash, with some Wayne Boothe small talk.

It's a November day in Toronto, so naturally we talk about the weather. You would be surprised how much complaining can be done in the time it takes the elevator to reach the 7th floor.

As the elevator stops and I get my last complaint in, my elevator mate counters with the following remark:

"but hey...we have a black president"

Both of us are now grinning, ear to ear.

I wish her a good day as I depart the elevator, and I can't stop thinking about what she had said.

This quote will now be my personal Hakuna Matata.
