Currently watching season 2, and I'm loving this show.
Quite often in conversation about the show, The Wire is mentioned. It sort of has a No Country For Old Men/There Will Be Blood, relationship with its respective fans. The Wire is in the high society of television shows, and while The Shield is not as smart, I do like the fact that it's very easy to watch.

It's all about Shane.
Although he did spoil Rachel Blisson for me as she looks like a young female version of him.
I'm about 5 episodes into Season 4, and I'm hating Shane right now. I'm glad Anthony Anderson's character turn the tables on that dumb ass hick.
His arc in Season 3 with Mara was some annoying ass shit.
Loving the hell out of this show.
